On Tuesday, February 2 2009 CourtStream version 5.3.0 was released to beta. The majority of the upgrades in this version are for administrators. This release will include the following changes/upgrades:
Major Changes
- System Log
- Administrators can now see all the system level activities in one place. System Log keeps track of users logging in and out of the system, password requests, and other low level operations.
- Manage Security
- One of the essential features of CourtStream is the ability to control who can see and modify the data it contains. Unlike version 5.2.6, which had a fairly simple permissions model, CourtStream 5.3.0 has a rich and flexible system that allows system administrators to create fine-grained permission allocations across the entire system. Put more clearly: CourtStream has a number of ways to ensure that the right people can see and do the right things with the right data.
- Main Menu
- We've reorganized the main menu (on the far left or on the top, depending on how you've set it up). We think, once you get used to it, it will be more straight-forward and easier to find what you're looking for. All the main BizStream applications are in the "BizStream" section including Home, Announcements, Calendar, Contacts, etc. (If you have your menu along the top of the screen, it's under the BizStream logo) instead of in their own sub menus. Case Manager, Detention, and Facility have their own groups and, if you have the menu along the top, will give you easy access to some commonly visited areas.
- If you'd like to move your menu to the top so you can see the additional features you can do so by clicking "My Preferences" in the "Tools" section of the menu. Then under "Menu Layout Preferences" change the dropdown to "I want my Menu on the Top" and click "Update".

- Updated: Optimized the way you view Progress Report details to be more consistant with the rest of CourtStream and minimize screen refreshing.
