That functionality will be rolled out with the rest of the special character searching stuff.

Re: Phonetic Name Search

This also affects the AS400. There has been an age old rule that no spaces or apotrophes are used in names. And this did become an issue this morning because the clerk's office could not get the name to pull up without the apostrophe. So I'm not sure if there's a way you can allow CourtStream to have the spaces/apostrophes but "remove" them from the name when it shoots back to the AS400. Or maybe we'll have to reiterate the rule. Let me know.

Re: Phonetic Name Search

Searching for existing clients in the "New Case" section does have that bug in it right now. Searching from anywhere else in the application handles those characters correctly if I'm not mistaken. That's a pretty quick fix and we're going to get that rolled out to Beta in the next Beta release scheduled on 11/30/07, then to Live after user approval.

Phonetic Name Search

Today we had a juvenile with an apostrophe in their name. When we tried to pull her up without the apostrophe it doesn't show her in the system. But I knew it was a case we already had so I found out the file number and indeed she was already on. I thought at one point I heard that spaces, dashes, apostrophes, etc. were not going to be an issue on CourtStream. For example, VandenBout or Vanden Bout, OLeary or O'Leary. I can see this being problematic.
